Sandy

NALA

French Bulldog
Bonebandit's Hopelessly Devoted
Birthday 12-3-03
Gotcha Day 1-10-07

It took no time at all for this sweet natured, beautiful little girl to take over our hearts.  Bonding instantly with Lynda, she is never more than a few feet away, sleeps under the covers with her and looks at her with total devotion.  She's impossible to resist... and who would want to?

SANDY

Tibetan Spaniel
Bonebandit's Low Rider
Gotcha Day
4-23-10

Sandy was passed around between members of a family for ten years until they finally had to place her or be evicted.  I was in the right place at the right time, although her billing as a Pekingese turned out to not be quite accurate.  Born in the south, she is every inch a lady.

GIZZY

Long Haired Chihuahua
Bonebandit's Arm Candy
Gotcha day 11-10-07
Bridge Day 9-7-10

Gizzy was rescued from a kill shelter after being surrendered by a neglectful home.  His remaining rotted teeth were removed, his dislocated knees repaired, he was neutered and suddenly, at the age of 15, Gizzy had a whole new life.  We were thrilled to become the new family of this charming little guy.  He got his bone bandit name from his love of being carried around, looking handsome and irresistible.

His spirit never failed him, but at 18
the years of neglect caused his body to fail.

Gotcha Day 8-29-03
Bridge Day  12-7-08

Santo guided Robbie to us within a week of leaving us for the Bridge.  His owner was forced to place him and all of his brothers.  A gentle boy, his sweet, quiet demeanor and quivering chin quickly win your heart.

Robbie fell terribly ill the same day Carolyn went into the hospital.  He had to be helped to the Bridge a few days later and was there to greet her.

ROSIE
Bonebandit's Grumpy Old Lady
Gotcha day 8-14-04
Bridge Day 3-7-08

We adopted Rosie from the Animal Orphanage in Voorhees, NJ when she was 13.  We didn't think she had long to live, but boy did she fool us.  An emergency spay proved to be just what she needed to go another 3-1/2 years.  As she got older she grew blinder and deafer and finally developed symptoms of doggie dementia.  As she lost any quality of life, we helped her make her journey to the Bridge with dignity.

JEFFREY
Bonebandit's Jeffrey Zoolander
Gotcha Day 8-13-05
Bridge Day 8-17-07

From a scruffy, skinny, matted, flea infested old boy left on our vet's doorstep, grew a tail wagging funny boy with a luxurious coat and a Grrrr button when he was picked up.  He was named him after the top winning Peke in the country, but his often punk hairdo inspired his last name.  When he was 15, he developed an aggressive and inoperable tumor in his mouth.

Only 1344 days of sweetness, love,
magic, and never enough kisses.
Now endless memories
of a precious girly girl
who made me laugh every day
and love when I didn't think I could.

Raquel
Bonebandit's Thanks to Rachelle
Gotcha Day 4-30-05
Bridge Day 6-20-06

Raquel had the most brilliant spirit I have ever known and the day we adopted her was such a bright spot in our lives.  Her refusal to allow a little thing like blindness and deafness  stand in her way of enjoying life was an inspiration.

She was a tiny little girl who left huge holes in our hearts and memories that will never dim.

Candy
Bonebandit's Nancy's Girl
Gotcha Day 9-7-04
Bridge Day 7-7-05

We got Candy when she was 13 and  she gave us ten months of love and laughs.  She was such a deceptively cranky old gal and didn't allow a lot of cuddling.  Things were strictly on her terms.  But her spirit was huge and the most dangerous place in the house was between Candy and her food bowl.  I cannot believe how much I miss this little girl.

SANTO
Bonebandit's Hear Me Woof
Gotcha day 7-27-99
10-31-87 to 8-24-03

Left at our vet to be put down for barking too much, Santo came to us at the age of 11-1/2.   And now that he's gone, we find that the silence is worse than any amount of barking.

Run free and bark your head off, Santo...  your pal Phoebe is waiting for you.

PHOEBE

Bonebandit's Thief of Hearts
6-20-92  to  3-13-03

I was there at the hour of her birth and she was with me all her life.  For ten years she patiently and graciously welcomed all new rescue cats and dogs we brought in.  She crept into my heart in a way I would never have thought possible.

Her lessons were patience, grace, and acceptance.  She wasn't what I wanted, but she was exactly what I needed.

LOGAN
Ch. Maximum's Bully Bone Bandit
1-13-88  to  1-11-99

My heart dog since he was 10 days old, Logan wove his magic on all who met him and many who never did.  His presence will always be with us, his place is always in my heart.  No words could begin to explain what he meant to me.  For me he was the perfect dog.

Maximum's Split Decision
1-13-88 to 9-12-98

Logan and O.C. were the original Bone Bandits, each with their distinct personalities, yet alike enough to win a BIS Brace.  O.C. truly became a split decision when divorce separated him from me and from Logan and his best pal Phoebe.

ABBY

Abigail Most Precious
6-26-86 to 3-20-91

My first bulldog and my biggest lesson.  The product of a backyard breeding, Abby was a tortured soul whose short life was an unexpected mixture of joy and unhappiness for her and heartbreak for us.  I loved her with all my heart and will never forget the lessons she taught me.
